Werra III 50 2.8:

Be sure to zoom in on the small sign below. Mick was the only barber to offer free haircuts to homeless folks, and reduced-price haircuts to unmployed/underemployed folks. Not long after I shot this, meth-heads broke in and took all his tools--all his potential scrap-metal--and he gave up the location. No good deed goes unpunished....

Some clones and a Zeiss

Some clones and a Zeiss

Quite a nice collection of tessar images at Manual focus lenses .com. Attila and the gang over there have a strong and warrented following of the Jena f2.8/50mm and it's Variants. I never could get a good one :?

Here are a few tessar or tessar clone images. I see folks are posting 1000pix + so I will too.
Tessar Clone Lumuxar f3.5/80mm which was the original tessar on the Yashicamat cameras. The Yashinon followed as it does in these images.

My penchant for bright colored cars notwithstanding, this is really more a test shot to see what the old Zeiss Tessar can do ...

Ricoh GXR-M + RoBoT Zeiss Tessar 38mm f/2.8
(1938 uncoated lens)
ISO 200 @ f/5.6 @ 1/1250 sec

Here's a 1:1 detail so you can see just how sharp this 75 year old lens is...

And people say I shouldn't shoot color with an uncoated lens ... ;-)

Uncoated lenses work very well in harmony with color film. I love using Reala 100 with my 1938 Zeiss 5cm 1.5 (Sonnar). It is not different with uncoated Tessar lenses.

🙂 I was being a little flippant.. ;-)

I've heard the "oh, it's an uncoated lens so stick to b&w" so many times from the supposed geniuses on the equipment forums it's funny.

This old RoBoT lens is quite the good performer. I'm going to have to try out the '41 Zeiss Biotar 40mm f/2 on the GXR and E-PL1 as well. And I have a lens hood for that one ...
