^ Newst, I love the dog pictures. They certainly put a smile on my face.
All the best,
Mike
Thank you. These two put a smile on my face, and more, on a daily basis.

Really any time I see Paris when it's raining:
Or get a moment after walking in the rain to capture other's doing the same:
Or when I'm surprised by an animal I didn't expect to see:
Or when I traveled to Milan with my spouse's parents:
Or my father-in-law when he got his first good beer in Italy:

In the good old days... I took this picture with my first digital camera.
A Fujifilm Finepix 2 or 3 megapix zoom something or other.
Christmas morning 2003? at Lake Shojiko, shot from the hotel room in the early morning.
Notice all the photographers at the lake's edge?
It was a very cold morning.
All the best,
Mike

Thanks Mike for your kind words!
In 1978 I was an active Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) member, patrolling my local beach every other weekend. Once a year, all the SLSC's travelled to the National Surf Life Saving Titles. The 1978 titles were held at Kingscliff beach in northern NSW, about 10hrs drive up the old highway in the surf club's ancient bus. It was non-stop party all the way and during the few days of the competition. Not much sleep was had. There were many sore heads each morning. I spotted one of the girls in the club asleep against a surf boat, grabbed my OM1 and 200mm f/4 Zuiko and quickly moved into position to take this one frame on Kodachrome 25. It was a happy memory!

Smokey (the kitten) came to live with Trooper and me on this morning. At her first sight of Trooper she took off for parts unknown, disappearing for around two hours, only reappearing when she was hungry. By that first night, however, they had become fast friends...
