Lovely tonality in kitchen shot above, Bob.
Fuji jpeg but I'm guessing you post tweaked and/or adjusted in camera settings?

Thank you!
I opened up the shadows a bit, added a little clarity in PS.

Is she looking at me? Isn't she? Is she? I am not sure to be honest.

I hope this isn't to pedantic but what exactly is 'the look'? I originally thought it must be a particular way of looking at the photographer as some kind of interloper or nutter but maybe it's something else? Can it just be a person who is 'looking', perhaps at nothing in particular? Hoping for clarification...

I think you will find the interpretation of "the look" to mean different things to different people. At least that's what this thread indicates. To me it is a facial expression that shows very strong emotion. As to say the person does not have to say a word for you to know exactly what they are thinking. It can be pointed at the photographer, but does not have to be.
My two cents.

I have long since reconciled myself to the idea that once a thread is started on RFF it is in the public domain and can take a thousand different interpretations and go off in a million different directions.I hope this isn't to pedantic but what exactly is 'the look'? It kind of reminds me of one of those free association conversations we sometimes have with close friends when everyone has had a few beers and are relaxed and feel comfortable with their companions.
God knows where those topics will go once started.
So I suggest relax and go with the flow. If this were the kind of site where moderators pawed over every word and deleted those that were a little off topic then I would be out of here and I suspect half the people here would be too.

Thanks for the comments, clearly it's a look rather than the look!

I had to look up the word "pedantic". Clearly I'm not as smart as most others here.
However, I do know "the look" when I see it.
And, I know "a look" when I see it too!
