Nice one Ronald. Makes me wonder 1) where are they, what with the heavy equipment tracks and all , and 2) what's with the cases attached to the vehicle? Are these guys working, or on vacation? It conjures a bunch of possible story-lines.

The picture is taken at Liberty park, the largest war museum in the Netherlands, during the 'Militracks' event. The motto of the museum is 'war belongs in a museum'. It has a huge collection of vehicles and artifacts but also serves as a documentation center and a Holocaust memorial. We went there on a school trip when I was twelve years old, the first time I realized the full horror of war.

During Militracks a course is laid out on the grounds of the museum and a large variety of WWII vehicles in running order are present. Most of them are German and privately owned, although the museum usually runs a few of their own. For a small fee you can join on one of the laps. Usually there are tanks, trucks, half-tracks and motorcycles. Last year the museum fired up their big 'ole T-34 tank!

Laws governing gun use are very, very strict in the Netherlands and in Germany, so any guns on display or for sale are always non-functional. It is all for show.
