Another great image. A satisfied yet world-weary look, an interesting wife/partner/whoever she is, and a masterly black dye job...

Pro Neg. Hi. Hm. Who wudda thunk it? Here I've been using the slide simulations all along, with thinking basically from my long ago film days when slide film meant enhanced colors.

I will give it a try later today as this week I'm in Malaysia, doing more street walking (in the photo sense) than usual. With my Xpro2 and the 18 2.0 as I wanted to live dangerously.

I've also set the colors to +3. All this is my desperate effort to get Fuji colors to look more like Nikon gives me as I've come to expect it to, this is my one and only gripe with the Fujis which otherwise as a basically decent system and ergonomically fun to work with. The Fujinon lenses of course are superb optics.

Many thanks for this.

Replying to my own quote here. And an earlier post from Mr Yokohama.

Yoiks!! I tried your suggested settings, and - success!! The best colors I've been able to pry out of one of my Fujis.

This isn't to hijack your thread, so I plan to post more about Fuji and improved colors in a new one - maybe one I want to do on photography in the challenging tropical Asia light conditions.

I'm a great admirer of your courage - and stamina - you get out there every day and frontiup to people on the street with your cameras. While I spend my time pixel-preserving old colonial buildings and Chinese cemeteries, but as the French fondly say, to each their gout...

Hi Mike,
i am just amazed again. With the 16mm you stood 1 meter away? Amazing work.

Mike

Thank you, Mike, much appreciated.

Yes, I was exactly 1 meter away. I had my camera in manual focus mode with the in-camera distance scale set to 1.0 meter. For me, scale focus is much more reliable than auto focus for such close-up photography.

All the best,
Mike
