This is one happy dog!!

Interesting that so many Japanese are into dogs. Very much a middle class thing. The owners seem to lavish time and affection and care and certainly money on them.

All the dogs you've photographed look content and well looked after. This little canine looks well cared for and supremely satisfied with his doting owner and everything in his life.

(This from a cat person, so a true compliment.)

Your street photography never ceases to amaze and impress me. If I were I to try the same in Melbourne I would run a high risk of going home with a bloody nose, if not to the A&E at the nearest hospital.

Hello, DownUnder, my wife and I are cat people too!

It is true, the people of Japan love their dogs! I never used to give dogs much thought myself but I have somehow fallen under Dogman's dog lover spell and not only have I been photographing dogs on the streets I'm walking up to their owners and complementing them on having such nice dogs. When my wife witnessed me telling a dog owner (a total stranger) that he had a nice dog she asked me if I was feeling okay? (are you feeling okay as in have you gone crazy?). I'm still a cat lover but I really get why people love their dogs! :)

All the best,
Mike
