Decades ago, the ship I was on stopped in Sasebo and I believe it was during that stop I figured out how to get to Nagasaki riding a bus make photographs. I had just bought a Nikkormat and a few lenses.

Bill, I was stationed on a Ship in Sasebo for a few years in the late '80s and early '90s. Sasebo is a beautiful seaside town. If one has a car they can drive in any direction and there will be plenty of terrific photography opportunities. The people in that area are friendly and the food is great. My wife and I enjoyed our time there and we sometimes go back for a visit.
