Hi Mike,

A question, when you use Sony A7 III and Voigtlander 50mm f1.5, what is the focus distance you set on the lens and I assume you use f2.8? Thanks. I am trying to use my 50mm for street more this year!

Hello Tim,

When I'm using a 50mm for street my setup is aperture priority, f2.8, distance 1.3 meters, ISO set to get a shutter speed of 1/1000 (minimum).

A distance of 1.3 meters is very close in to the subject; if you're not comfortable with being that close I suggest that you stand in front of an inanimate object at the distance you are comfortable with and focus your lens on it and then go practice. With a little time and practice you can get pretty good at it.

All the best,
Mike

My wife and I are going to spend a couple of days in Tokyo enjoying the sights and doing a little shopping. So, I won't be updating the "streets of Yokohama" until I get back. I'll post a couple of images from yesterday on my way out the door!

All the best,
Mike
