That's a 1959 Chev, and the first year they denigrated the Impala name by putting it on a 4-door sedan! In 1958 it meant something special, but then dilution seems to be par for the course with US car naming. When I was a teen, my Dad got a new 1959 Bel-Aire like the one pictured only it was the 4-door hard-top model with two-tone paint. :)

We had a '61 Biscayne that my Dad had to special order with NO options. Let's just say Dad was thrifty back then. Anyway, I remember the dealer loaned us a really sporty dark blue Impala until our new beige Biscayne arrived. My brother and sister and I were sad to give up that Impala for the beige Biscayne without a radio. Fortunately heaters and brake lights had become standard equipment by then.

Andrew,

Isn't that an old Bessler on that motorcycle? Maybe it's a mobile 1 Hour Photo as well as a noodle delvery vehicle.

The Ford was a teenage lust machine when I grew up. In 1962 I would have given my .... for one of these. The REO is a lot older! Bessa R/CV 28mm CS/Kodak Gold 200/natural (florescent) lighting.
