Hi, here in Denmark (and I think in other Nordic countries as well), there is a tradition of children hanging their pacifiers up on a special tree (a "suttetrae" in Danish) when they are ready to give up using them. Sometimes the kids also hang up a note on the tree, essentially saying thanks and goodbye to the pacifiers.
These trees are not very common, I only know of one in Roskilde where I live, a town of 100,000 people. But I suppose there are a few others in Roskilde that i don't know about.
