The Christmas Tree
We cleaned the house in preparation
To welcome the tree to our home
Decorating it would be a participation
Even the Dogman will hang a bone
No one in this house should feel alone
The tree is always the center of attention
It’s a place to call our own
The children feel some anticipation
When the gifts come out we should turn off the phones
No one in this house is going to feel alone
Counting down to Christmas morning
The old folks know it’s not about what’s under the tree
It’s all about the smiling faces
Faces illuminated by the lights of the tree
I miss my parents, they were always there for me
There was always something for everyone
Underneath the Christmas tree
All the best,
Mike
