Wow, that brings me back! My uncle had a '63 Beetle for ages. I always knew how old it was because he got it the year I was born. I think he got rid of it in '79. Now I'm going to have to keep an eye out for one to shoot a pic of...

68's had rubberized bumpers, this one is a 66. Opps, I was a VW maniac in the 60's and 70's. I specialized in 1967 anything VW. Why? The only year they had a 12 volt battery system and no smog control. Considered the most reliable of the Real Bugs, which as an owner of over 20 of them is not saying much.

yeah...it's a '66, it's also not my '68. I was just making the comment I had one once. I think '68s also had the newer style headlights as well.
