Well, I'm the proud new owner of a Zorki 4K with I-61 L/D from Alex-photo on Eb@y. I await it's arrival in brown paper and yak string with manic excitement

Congratulations - I just bought my third one!!

Alas the Yak string seems to have died out, alongside the soft brown paper. Both the Ukrainian and Russian post offices are pretty efficient too - never wait more than a week just now. The cameras still have that distinctive smell though.

Congrats Comp_wiz. Don't want to get your hopes up but I once got a package from Alexphoto in 6 days. 😱 That's right.....6 days! Count em! 🙂

The brown paper and yak string package is not so common anymore. I only got one package like that out of errr.....ummm.....a couple of items. Just expect a box covered in yellow and blue taped. 🙂

Ain't it the truth. The last FSU I got came in a bubble-wrap padded envelope!! (No. Not box... ENVELOPE!) But I still have every inch of yak string I ever received! 😉 Long live the Yak!

Enjoy the 4K!!

Hmm... just a little poll from people who have order from Alex-photo: do lenses from him typically focus fairly smooth, or am I possibly looking at doing a relubing?

It's HERE! It arrived today, only took 7 days airmail from Alexphoto. Well packed, case in good condition. The body is in great shape, silkscreening on slow shutter speeds are only slightly faded, and it is very clean. i-61 L/D is great, no scratches, fungus, etc. I-61 could use a relube at some point, but it is quite useable. All I had to do to the body is adjust the infinity on the rangefinder, and I look forward to trying it out. Now my Zorki-C has a younger brother!

EDIT: Uh oh... looks like the shutter speed dial is a little more faded than I realized....check out the thread I started for that.
