The local Walgreen stores here in middle Georgia are selling 8 rolls of Agfa 200 speed color film for $5.99!! They're 24 exposure rolls and that's 75 cents per roll. They're specially packed and priced so it may be that Walgreens is trying to empty their warehouses of Agfa film. I don't know their motivation but I just purchased two packs of 8 rolls this evening.

DMR said they had this special in her area a couple of weeks ago. They are finally running the special in the St. Louis area, too.

Go to Walgreens.com, click on the weekly ad button and type film in the search box.

I just bought a pack of the Walgreens special, never tried it before. I've not used color negative film much so I'm curious to see how it works out.

No walgreen's around here yet 🙁 but soon. 🙂 The company is haggling with the county zoning/code comission to get final approval to build one. Hopefully by spring, I'll be able to get me some of this--if they're still selling film by then...

I had thought about mentioning it, but the next time I went in it was all gone. As it was, I only got a double box of the ISO200 film, so I wasn't sure if this was actually something in all stores or not. Plus I was hoping to see it be done with the 400 as well 😀

OTOH, with some of the cameras I own, I'd dearly love for them to do it with the ISO100 film as well... (yes, sometimes ISO200 can be too fast... 😱 )

They had those on sale here a couple weeks ago. I picked up 16 rolls, enough to last me well into the new year probably. I was in there the other day and there were none of those left.

Walgreen's around here has made a big push to reduce their film inventories and varieties. In September all of the Fuji film disappeared, even though they recently upgraded all of their processors to the Fuji Frontier. Now the only film they sell is Kodak and Walgreen's house brand (Agfa). After Agfa quits production, they will probably switch to another producer. ISO 100 Walgreen's film disappeared last year.

I went into a Walgreen's tonight and didn't see any of the 8 packs on the wall. I asked the lab tech and he pulled out a case of 8 packs from underneath the counter. If you don't see any in the store, ask the lab techs if they have any stashed under the counter.
