Hello friends,
I want to ask fair street price for :
Nikon 28ti and Contax T2 Black Titanium color
I assume the condition of body is mint but maybe not included box and so on...
Because I rather confused market price in ebay or any other market (Can anyone give me suggestion?) can not give real streetprice for these cameras.
One thing also I am not sure to choose 28ti rather than 35ti because of my needs is for street photography (mainly for BW), can anyone give me suggestion, which is more suitable for that occasion ?
Thank you and cheers

Sorry, can't help with the street prices but can offer you a suggestion.
I had a 35ti at one point that I had to send back due to frame advance and shutter issues. Thought he camera itself is beautiful and supposedly takes very nice images, it is old electronic technology.
I paid around 300USD for mine.
I now have a rolei AFM35 which is based on the fuji klasse. It's a newer design, and I've yet to read about issues with considering lcd bleeds and lens mechanism problems are common with other compacts. It can be had for around the same price range or less.
It's a spectacular camera and has quenched my thirst for a nice compact.

In my opinion, yes. The Rollei 35AFM and the Fuji Klasse are basically the same camera. An excellent lens, simple operation and manual focus and aperture options.
I've not tried the fuji Klasse W (28mm) but would very much like to, in the future.
FWIW the Klasse (Rollei 35AFM) and the Klasse S are not the same camera. Same lens, but the Klasse S came later and has the same improved shutter, aperture mechanism, and controls as the Klasse W. The Klasse S is the pick of the 35-38mm high end compacts IMO. I much prefer it over the Contax T2. There's one in the classifieds for sale now actually.
I wouldn't buy a 28Ti or 35Ti for the simple reason that they're no longer repairable.

Jon, would you mind expanding on 'improved shutter, aperture mechanism, and controls'. I know there's an exposure compensation dial up front, but wanted to see how these compare and whether adding a W would be too different to shoot with.

Sure
* The aperture shape is rounded (well, pentagon shaped as there are five aperture blades) on the Klasse S/W at all apertures. On the Klasse, the aperture shape is like a triangle with warped sides - does the job but the OOF shapes can get a bit funky.
* The Klasse S/W shutter will fire up to 1/500 wide open, whereas the Klasse only reaches 1/290 wide open. The Klasse S/W also has a slight speed advantage at each subsequent aperture until F16 when both the Klasse S/W and Klasse reach 1/1000.
* Klasse S/W have a good range of customizable features not found on the Klasse (e.g. leave the film leader in/out at rewinding, remember flash setting when camera is turned off, manually settable film ISO along with exposure compensation - there's a few more but I don't remember them off the top of my head).
The Klasse and Klasse S/W are essentially the same camera to shoot with though, so no worries there.

Rollei 35AFM is hard to get. One that surprising is that Klasse S is made in Indonesia ; very nice, the country I'm living in hehehe

I just paid $500 for a 'black titanium' T2. This is the one that looks like it's charcoal gray, not the total black version. Haven't received it yet. It'll come with the box and pouch and manual. I was planning to get the 'regular' silver version for about $375, but saw a video clip of the 'gray' model and i kinda had a lustful moment....
I used to have a Klasse W. Well, sequentially, i had a T2, sold it to get the T3, then sold the T3. Bought a Klasse W, then sold that. The Klasse is nice, but it feels more like a typical P&S camera. The T2 feels like a beautiful piece of industrial art. For some people, the feel isn't a critical matter. Sometimes it means something to me; sometimes less so. But, at this point, when i was faced with re-acquiring something i had previously owned, i decided to go 'whole hog' and get something that would feel inspiring to use.
One thing i wish i had comparative memory of is the viewfinders. I don't recall if the T2's is better than the Klasse's, but i have read two different opinions. One, that the T2's is larger, and two, that the Klasse offers better 'eye relief' or some such. I chose the larger, as i don't wear glasses when shooting.
But, if you search flickr for "Interesting" photos from both cameras, i don't think you'll find anything between them, quality-wise. Maybe think of it this way: buy one of them. Use it for six months. If you're not smitten, sell it and try the other. It's not a permanent decision.

I plan to have only 1-2 PS RF with AF capability. Not a collectors mine
so the best choice is T2, the other is 35ti or 28ti ?

I briefly considered the 35ti, as they are less expensive than the T2. But after a bit of reading of reviews and comments I found online, I came away with the impression that the AF is slow, and there are too many fiddly features and settings and that they might 'get in the way.' I don't know any of this from first hand experience and have never even held the Nikon. In the end, I regarded those consistent comments as significant and probably valid.
You say you want the camera for "street shooting," but from what I read, the AF of the 35ti isn't really suited for that. Perhaps you should examine which camera might work best/most efficiently in a pre-focused mode for 'snap' shots? In that case, why not a Ricoh GR? I have no experience with that, either, but I recall a friend telling me he liked it for that purpose.
To be honest, though, if I could justify the price, I probably would have gone back to the T3 rather than T2. I prefer the controls of the T2, but like the size and effective apertures/shutter speeds of the T3.

So, I skip 35ti for streetphotography? and then run for T2..I have offer from my friend that sell T2 black titanium, it has box, manual etc and also in good condition body and function, I don't know the bottom price for bargain, how much I have to started bargaining?I briefly considered the 35ti, as they are less expensive than the T2. Otherwise, do you have other option that less expensive/more cheaper than T2 black titan like that? GR1v or GR1s maybe?

The T2 would be my pick. Nice controls and most importantly it has a reputation for being very reliable, unlike the Ricohs unfortunately. I've wanted one for a while but the price on them just seems to increase. No idea what a black one is worth, the most common champagne finish copies in good condition sell for around $350 if you're lucky, the black titanium for at least $400 the very minimum. Check the ebay sold listings.

Are ebay sold listings worth a look for a price guide? Recent Contax T2 (black) prices on ebay sold listings (auction only) seem to be in the range $350 to $450.

I see the price is getting higher and higher especially for T2/or T3 varians, anyone could give little review for Contax Tix that use Sonnar CZ T* 28mm f2.8..more wider than T2..but surprisingly cheaper than T2.
Another varians is TVS, I don't know the main difference between TVS I,II and III but they use VS=Vario Sonnar Lens, I don't know too about the lens quality (sharpness, abberation, distortion and so..on) could someone give me a little review? Thanks a lot

The Contax Tix uses APS format film which is no longer manufactured. So there's not much point in buying one unless you intend to place it on a shelf as a decoration.
I don't know much about the TVS I,II and III but you should be able to find plenty of information with a bit of googling.

What's the price of your friend's t2? Is it ALL black, or is it the dark gray with the black rubber (grip) parts? Pricing is typically 350-400 for the 'silver' model, $500-ish for the gray, and more than that for the solid black. Assuming good condition - working, no dents, good finish, etc. I think that if you get one in that price range, or lower, you can pretty easily re-sell it later for what you paid — or more. Even if you listed it here in this site's classified section. They go pretty quickly here.
The TVS are zoom cameras. I was never interested in them because I prefer faster primes, but many people like them.

It's a spectacular camera and has quenched my thirst for a nice compact.
I also had trouble with the Nikon 36Ti.
The first had advance issues and the second simply froze up on the first roll of film... both returned.
If you asked me I would recomend as Bonaato has to look at the Rollei/Fuji afm35/klasse models.
I had an afm35 for a year and only recently traded it to a member here.
It's a really nice compact with a super lens.
The manual focus allows one to have zero shutter lag.
AF is an IR system so very accurate even in low light.
There was one in the rff classified a week ago. I think it's still there.
