This may be totally tasteless. Totally tacky and inappropriate, but I have looked everywhere and have had ZERO luck on all occasional encounters with that elusive piece of glass.

This is a plead for help. Anyone out there.

Find me a 100mm lens for the Bronica RF645.

In excellent condition or better.

With caps.

I figure the only way anyone is going to find one is if they find it in person at some shop without internet connections. . . .since trawlers have harvested the internet completely.

I am offering $650. So if you find it for $415. . . you'll make a couple hundred given that you ship the lens to me first . . unless you're a well posted member here or I know you personally. You could even set it up on the auction site with a BIN, and I'll clip it off ASAP. Look me up, I'm trustworthy. Just ask F/stopblues, Greyhoundman, and JoeFriday.

If that makes you nervous, but you know where one is . . . contact me and we'll figure something out.

Easy money. I'm not being lazy, I'm just desparate, and I don't think I'll pull this off myself.

For our friends in the FSU and other places with simiar exchange rates with the USA, this could be a sweet deal in your favor since I'll pay $650 USD regardless of your purchase price.

and let me reiterate the importance of the lens' cleanliness. No scratches or cleaning marks. No wobbly aperture rings, etc. It must be in Excellent condition or better.

Someone else bought it before me, and KEH's system just didn't show it. They let me know it with a "sorry, but we can't fulfill your order because the item has been sold. Would you like anything else?"

uh, no.

So yeah, if anyone sees one for a decent price somewhere, I'll pay $650. IF you find it for $300, you'll make $350, etc.

Can you post some pictures or link to the specific model lens; I'll be in search mode.

The last lens I walked into like this was a Pentax 65/3.5 for the Pentax 120 film SLR. It was $95. And then there was the Nikon M with 5/1.4 for $30. That's my 2nd favorite camera hunting story.

Here is a pic of the lens

there are two of this basic form : a 135 and a 100. I need the 100, but I know someone who will trade a 100 for a 135, so I could make either lens work out.

Prefer the 100mm, though, for sure.

100mm F/4.5 Zenzanon for the Bronica RF645

please note that the image was taken from a completed Ebay listing . . if the seller should require the removal of this image, I won't hesitate to take it down, but I'd have a harder time finding an image that hasn't been copyrighted.

yeah, that store rather rudely told me off

"If it says CALL FOR PRICE, we don't have it, okay?"

so that's that on Tristate.

WarehouseExpress does not have the lens for sale. The pricelist is merely a pricelist. Not an inventory list.

I touched on both those sellers yesterday. Among the many others.

Thanks, though

Wow, now that's customer client.

If you want them to never come back, that is.

Eyes open anyway. I looked at the usual suspects locally here. No luck.

Do you have a specific project in mind for this lens or is it for general photography? I ask because it might be easier to get a user 645 slr with one lens for a specific project than waiting around for the Bronica 100RF. The negative size would be the same as what you're use to and you can ditch it when the 100 finally comes around.

Yeah, I know that would be the practical solution. I don't NEED it for anything. I WANT it. I love the camera, love working with it, and just want the 100mm lens since I have the other two. It makes a complete set, and I think that a longer lens would make some street photography alot easier. I did consider buying a cheap little Mamiya 645 camera with a 150mm or something like that, but then I thought about how I'd rarely if ever use it, and would be unlikely to drag it out onto the street to shoot with it. I'm remembering the jarring kuSLAPclunk of my 645E. The camera visibly moved when the shutter fired.

Few of my motivations are practical.

The project I have in mind is shooting portraiture (occasionally) and mostly street stuff. On the street, I find that I have to get very close to my subjects in order to fill the frame with the 65mm. I would like to have the option of a little more remoteness.

Of course. . . .I could just find a Bessa + 75mm set.

I might do that. But I really would like to complete the RF645 lens set. It's my mission.

I don't know if this is what you need:

http://www.fotokonijnenberg.nl/product_details.php?id_product=15220

The picture shows a RF 645 with 65mm lens so that isn't the thing itself. I know the shop very well. Bought lots of stuff there. They are located in the Netherlands and now also Belgium.
If you want I can call them tomorow for some infomation. Have to call them because of something else so that isn't the point.

Oh yeah, and if anyone points me to one, and I buy it myself online or over the phone, I'll send you $100 through Paypal.

I'm a crazy fool. I know it.

Just for the info, the link I gave is a 100mm f/4. You are looking for a 100/4.5??
I will try to let them make a picture for you.

Well, there are a few in the 100-135 range for OTHER Bronica cameras. The trouble is finding the one for the RF645. I've seen quite a few 100 F4 lenses out there.

I think that vthere would be some 100mm lenses available in Hong Kong and Singapore. So, you might have to locate one the hard way......find out the email addresses of as many camera shops in HK and Singapore and email them. If they don't have one in stock, ask them for a lead.....

When I bought my Bronica RF645 set 3-4 weeks ago, the Hong Kong dealer I emailed had 1 only RF645 with45mm, 65mm, 100mm, RF20 flash and double hotshoe adaptor in stock - for $2000 which I promptly bought. If I can find one, so can you.....

Perservere and you'll obtain one.....

PS If you do find a complete set, I'll buy the body. off you.....
