War Photographer

RJ,
The kind of shotshell ammo case I was suggesting look just like any other innocent plastic box. I wasn't suggesting he throw a bandolier across his chest. 😱

Yes, Zeos, it does look harmless close up. From 100 yards it might look like ammo. 😕 A bandolier? Depends on the speed of the motorwinder and who's paying for the processing. 😛

Does Nachtwey carry those gray cases with him in the field? I'll have to get the DVD. Does Blockbuster have it?

Hey, from a 100 yards that grey stuff Nachtwey carries probably looks like plastic explosives.

Just as an afterthought (and not to knock anyones job) I think that for sheer craziness being a professional war photographer is right up there with professional bull riding.

Hi RJ,

Nachtwey does carry those gray cases in the field and in the documentary he is seen using it several times in the field. He has several of the cases stored in black pouches that he wears on Lowepro type belt. You really have to see the film, it is the closest I got to understand the motivation and philosophy of a great photographer.

Regards,
Peter
