Be aware that Youix Ye's Yahoo account has apparently been hacked. I just received the below message from his yahoo email address. This is a standard scam on the Internet. Youxin is not in Greece, he's in his workshop in Canton, Massachusetts and quite OK (I just talked to him on the phone).

"Hope you get this on time, sorry I didn't inform you about my trip to Greece for a Program, I'm presently in Greece, I am having some difficulties here because i misplaced my wallet on my way to the hotel where my money and other valuable things were kept. presently i have limited access to internet,I will like you to assist me with a loan of 1,750 Euro to sort-out my hotel bills and to get myself back home.

I have spoken to the embassy here but they are not responding to the matter effectively,I will appreciate whatever you can afford to assist me with,I'll Refund the money back to you as soon as i return, let me know if you can be of any help.I don't have a phone where i can be reached.

Please let me know immediately.
Regards."

Oh man! I just wired him the money!

... just kidding ...

Once I got a nearly identical scam email from "my brother in London" ...

Was it deffinitely his email address? I sometimes get scam emails from............. myself   :D
Although "myself" is using a different email address.

Is there a way I can delete an email I sent before I realized this was a scam?

It said, "Bummer dude, sucks to be you."

Thanks for the heads up! Glad to hear that Youxin is OK. Does he have access to his e-mail account, or would it be better to give him a call? I might send him some gear in a week or two.

You guys clearly smoke the same stuff ... :)

Cheers
Ivo

Unless you're from 'Dam, or got your hands on one of those CIA experimental batches you won't be smoking the same stuff as here :)

But on a serious note, it's true, there is a scam which will send you an email using your or your friend's name, but from an unknown email address, usually those are designed just to get your attention as you're likely to see a familiar name and open it.
