If you have any version of the Adobe CC be warned that many of us are having big problems with the updates.

After updating on my mac, Lightroom 5.5 will not work at all. Photoshop CC loads a second copy of the app and although it gives you the option to migrate your preferences etc, they did not migrate and I'm not sure yet just how to move all the plugins.

If you have auto update turned on, I strongly suggest you turn it off until you know it will work.

Sadly,

lightroom camera profiles missing!

lightroom camera profiles missing!

Not sure if this is caused by the PS update, but.... I'm Mac based. I had a similar problem with some custom camera profiles I put together using the x-rite color checker and software. I couldn't find the profiles in LR, neither could I find any camera profiles in LR. The profile drop down simply said "embedded". I searched for other users having the same problem. One solution was to uninstall, using MacCleaner, then reinstall LR. This didn't work. After some thought, I exported a test shot from my camera into the fresh installation of LR. Voila! The camera profile appeared along with the profiles from x-rite color checker. Guess the camera profile directory was mis-placed or deleted.

We will always have these issues as long as one entity builds OS and a second develops the software. Do they talk to each other? Does Adobe test on a timely basis? I have no idea.

I'm one of those people for whom the move to the "cloud" and CC has been good (I use a number of Adobe apps for work). However, Adobe's implementation of managing it has been nothing but glitchy for me. And I'm one of many who have had to deal with a particularly annoying bug.

I've just given up and am waiting until I have some time to do a much-needed clean install of the OS.
