Warranty repairs on CV lenses?

I have a 7 or 8 month old 28 Ultron and the threads on the hood (that the thumb screw go into) stripped. I called the (popular) retailer and they didn't seem to have any idea what to do about it.

Anyone have any warranty repairs done on CV? Any suggestions?

I don't know that the retailers name matters at this point - my objective is not to complain about them, just to try to get a warranty fix on the hood.
