wash a camera bag?

One of my recent bags came from a Powerbook 180c laptop that was retired at work (no wonder that they retired it, poor beast :)). It had tons of dust and dirt on the outside from being stored for years, and some inside as well.

A treatment that seems to work well with nylon bags is a cloth soaked (slightly) on ammonia. Two or three rounds with it and will look like new.

But don't put the cloth to your nose, or you'll have an impressive headache the morning after ;)

I do that exact thing, Gipsy. Everyday.

Right now, there's a panoramized Agfa folder and one of my GSN's inside the bag:) And some accessories...

I think the *key* to washing your camera bags, though, is to ensure that you've removed your camera first! :D

Cheers,
Steve

And what if it's a Nikonos ?

:D

Btw Gipsy, I also do that student bag thing, everyday, mainly 'cos I'm a student myself :) We've had about 3-4 camera bag threads :p

fyi guys,

i washed the bag and threw it in the dryer on low for a short bit. i then let it continue to airdry.

looks unhurt and still very faded. i may try to dye it black for the heck of it, not sure yet.
