Waterfalls!

A few weeks ago, I posted asking which lens I should use for taking images of waterfalls. Since I don't have anything wider than a 35mm lens for my Leica, I decided to shoot with my Zeiss 25mm lens in F mount on my FM2N. All shots were taken using a tripod and cable release. I shot one roll using the original Velvia 50 and one role using Kodachrome 25. The first two images below were shot using Velvia 50 and the last image was shot using Kodachrome 25. Yes, they were taken at Silver Falls State Park in Oregon.

It was completely accidental that I ended up using K 25, but I'm sure glad I got the opportunity.

It can be a great place. A few years ago I got to stay at one of the yurts they now have. Very inexpensive, though comfortable lodging.

When you get up to Oregon this summer, if you have the time, give me a holler and we can get together for a shoot.

Great, the first time is for a memorial for a friend since 1955. I've been in contact with her ever since, sadly until now.

Saw an interesting OPB show last week... About 4 hours of history about the CCC between the two world wars. There were about 40+ CCC camps in Oregon and hundreds (thousands?) more throughout the US. One of FDR's programs to help get people back to work. I was amazed at the massive good the CCC did for young Americans, including education and job training.

Silver Falls State park owes all of it's improvements to the Conservation Corps camp nearest the park.

My dad used to tell me about his time in the CCC before WWII and all the work they did in Michigan.

Great pictures, and only a small sampling of the many falls that make up the park.
