My son was asked to photograph an outdoor concert for seniors at a local residence. The event was hosted by Old Growth Magazine a community publication dedicated to intergenerational involvement. Jake's 14 and a regular contributor to the magazine. I tagged along to carry his gear and made this snap of Mary, a 93 year old resident taking a break from the concert to pick tomatoes from the community garden.

Thanks Mike. You might save more lives than any other RFF member, ever.
I think it's a pity about the black masks. I don't think they look good on anyone. I have one that is just royal blue. The patterns on some aren't right. It reminds me of the advent of the compact disc in the '80s. (PM me anyone who needs a definition of 'compact disc' or 'the '80s) The LP artwork did not translate well to the tiny format. A new approach in graphic design was needed. I see it coming in some new masks.
Social distance, wash hands, wear a mask. Saving lives. Relevant in the US right now.
Kids in Melbourne under 12 don't have to wear one. But so many want to. That's great.

Thank you, Richard, that’s very kind of you to say so.
When I was a young man, wearing a necktie was something that one did. It was expected at certain occasions; church, parties, business, graduations… etc. A fairly harmless piece of attire but it did become a divisive issue in the ‘70s culture wars.
I look at a face mask as being no different than a necktie. I don’t really want to wear it but it’s what one does to comply with the norms of good behavior. I realize that it’s not quite as simplistic as all that but for me I need to boil things down to their simplest level to make them easily acceptable. I wear a mask every time I leave the house. I feel better and the people around me feel better. We’re all pulling together to get through this moment in time… together.

Some say masks are good, some say bad. Wear one in public because nobody has a better idea.
Wear it properly like conformed to nose and cheek bones and virus can also enter body through eyes.
Disposable gloves when you touch anything in public. How about if someone parks your car. Door knobs and faucet handles in your home.
This stuff is everywhere and you can not see it, I have not been to church since March, 8+ months. We have virtual church.
