Just thought i'd pass this along;
Well, yes and no. I'm the co-inventor of the Weincell. While it is a
type of zinc-air cell, the electrolyte is proprietary and patented and
not the same as any other zinc-air cell. We also drill a much smaller
hole in the Weincells to make them last longer than hearing aid
batteries. The discharge curve of the Weincell matches mercury cells
exactly. No other zinc-air cell does.
Most battery compartments are not air tight, so you really don't need
to drill holes.
