I have ancountered weird Jupiter 8 . It's from 1967, mechanics are early type (non-rotating front), but it is all black. Seems to be rare version. Any info about this weirdo?
Well, can't say it's impossible... but I bought this lens with half-jammed Zorki on local bazaar. It looked just like average camera found in grandpas closet. Bit dirty, with very old film inside. I suppose it's originial black paint.
I had one, but it's Zebra style.
I bought it from Islael seller because I never seen a zebra J8 before.
Finishing looks like from factory, but I'm not sure about this. It's also from 1967.
I've seen sovietcams website. PT3078 is similiar and it's 1966. Dante is probably right saying it's transitional model. 1967 marks end of non-rotating-front jupiters production - am I right?
PT3078 isn't totaly black. Filter ring is silver. Small difference but difference. 66-68 batch seems to be very unregular. Maybe soviet workers were assembling silver and black parts together with no order at all? Thats why some lenses are fully black, other are more or less chrome zebras.
