I'm using a Plustek 8100, and I've noticed a line going through top of every (vertical) scan. It's always there, but is most noticeable in the sky as the photos below show. What could be causing this? Is there any way to fix it without sending it into Plustek for repairs? Thanks!

Because it's lighter than the background I'm thinking it's a piece of crap on the scan's sensor. Try to orient one original upside down and see if it appears onthe bottom of the scan...

I agree with RF 35 that it may just be something that needs to be cleaned. Use Google and Youtube to search for tips and videos to show you how to open up your machine and clean it. Many techs at service centers are not conscientious about their work, so you may actually do a better job without the cost or dangers of shipping.

Flip the film and rescan. If lines are still there, it is on the film and it is a shutter fault.

The same pattern shows up on multiple cameras all in the same place. Roles through my Canon P, Nikon FM2n, and Olympus XA all have the same line in the same spot. I'm going to contact Plustek and get that going as it seems the only way to fix this is to take it apart and clean it.Flip the film and rescan. I had exactly the same issue with a Plustek scanner! I returned it and emailed the tech some pictures. As it was under warranty, the shop managed the return and it cost me nothing. It came back and now works perfectly...
