Hello,
I,ve heard it said that the Bessa R is built around the same chassis as the Nikon FM10 . If this is true,I wonder if a Nikon lens mounting flange would "bolt right up". What an interesting combination that would be! An inexpensive Nikon mount range finder!!

Nikon to 39mm adaptors are available, Alex-Photo has them occasionally, but still no rangefinder coupling. which probabply wouldnt matter that much if wide angles are used............

OOPS! It just occured to me , it wouldnt focus! No range finder coupling! oh well...........

Actually, if everything was mounted at the proper depth, it would focus a 50mm lens if you could figure out a way to make the back of the lens meet up with the RF coupling arm. The rangefinders of M-mount cameras (and L-mount cameras) are set up so that the in-and-out motions of the coupling arm correspond exactly to the focusing movement of a 50mm lens.

(Lenses of other focal lengths need cams or differentially-threaded helicals to "translate" their focusing movement to match a 50, so SLR lenses other than 50 would NOT work because they lack these cams.)

Doesn't mr. Gandy of cameraquest fame have adapters for Nikon to L39 or M which contain a rangefinder coupling? You determine distance by turning a dial on the adapter till the rangefinder lines up, and then transfer the setting to the lens..

Bit expensive though..
