Welcome to the new Nikon Historical Society (NHS) at RangeFinderForum
At this time, I would like to welcome everyone to our new Nikon Historical Society (NHS) at RangeFinderForum. Stephen Gandy and I have embarked on an attempt to keep the NHS alive for all those interested in Nikon history.
After 41 years of publishing my Nikon Journal, I had to step back and discontinue hard copy publication. Issue #165 was the last one and it was mailed out in January 2025. For various reasons it was necessary for me to give up the quarterly Journal as times have changed. Postage & printing costs and my advancing years just did not bode well. Fortunately, long time NHS member and supporter, Stephen Gandy (whom I have known for 30 plus years) approached me with the idea of continuing the Journal in a different form. That is as an electronic publication on his famous RangefinderForum site. I agreed it was the way to go if we wanted the Society to continue. The NHS is now on the RangefinderForum - CLICK NHS HERE
I will continue to provide periodic articles, and we have already started by publishing my Official NHS Black Body List. This list of real, and fake, black RF Nikons has been in the works for nearly 50 years. I truly hope you find it useful and that it is a good starting point for this new venture.
I want to thank Stephen, Mike Otto, along with RFF staff members splitimageview and NIKON KIU for putting this idea together and making it work. Please support the NHS Forum for all of its information and I hope I can add more Nikon news in the future. NHS members can continue to publish and share their new Nikon articles 365 days a year in the NHS Journal Updates section.
The majority of all 165 journals are digitized, soon every issue will be available for reference to all NHS members, new and old.
