After wanting one since it was first introduced but having second thoughts about buying for 2 reasons, IQ and $, I bought one today. Hardly used and looks brand new. I´m an M8 owner :D
I was not sure about the IQ but after starting another thread...http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75646
I decided to give it a go. I´m gonna have to sell my Canon gear though but hey.... it´s a Leica

I took a few shots today and found it lovely to use just like my M6, but found it strange to have my right thumb runnig free. Get used to that I quess. I kinda like the A mode as well. I dont like the strap that came with it and will most likely get another one soon as long as IR filter for my 2 lenses I got for it. I´m using the 50mm f 2 ZM planar and 35mm f1.7 Ultron and my next buy will be a 28mm.
Another thing that bugs me a little bit is that I´m a left eyed shooter so my big greasy nose gets the screen all smudgy  but I´m not the kinda guy that checks the screen after every shot so mayby its no biggy.

Anyway just wanted to spread my joy of becoming a M8 user and show you 2 samples from today ;)

Congrats totifoto :)

I hope this year (end of the year) become a M8 owner too. I'm considering now to sell my Xpan II and got the Leica this summer.

Nice pictures to celebrate your new purchase ;)

Congrats, I'm with Double Negative, the M8 is a very nice camera!

I sold off my Nikon D300 kit to buy one, since hauling the DSLR kit gave me backaches. Back still aches, but now I'm at least sure it's not the kit thats causing it.

I got a generic cheap seventies compact neck strap on it, the black thin nylon thingy. Taped up the front side with black gaffa tape. People look at me with pitiful looks, children ask their father why that man cannot afford a new camera:p. I'm in permanent stealth mode with it:cool:

There's a thread here somewhere on the filters, they take kinda long to arrive:eek:, but the thread has a link to a German seller on evilBay who stocks the B&W filters for a decent price.

Try steering away from the M9 threads, they always make my blood boil:D

Congrats! I'm a recent M8 owner myself and loving it.

Regarding the problem with your "right thumb running free," I might suggest buying a Thumbs Up (by Tim Isaac). Makes a world of difference.

Got mine from PopFlash.

But I´m gonna check with the local dealer tomorrow, doubt they have it though.
