Wells Street Jesus

Jesus and the American flag in front of a house on Wells Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A lot of the houses in this working-class area have Christian religious displays in the yards or in the windows.

This one, which I shot on October 21, is part of a larger project centered on Wells Street that I have worked on for a couple of years now.

I like thinking about how the person who put those three things together went about it. -I'll sit there, with Jesus next to me there, with the flag next to and in front of Jesus, so he's looking over it. Excellent!- Good catch!

Thanks Paul, Rob, and Ranchu. The subject was interesting, I had never seen a statue of Jesus in someone's yard before. A lot of Catholics will have statues of Mary, or sometimes other saints in their front yards, but I've never seen anyone with Jesus in the yard.
