Weston Master III - Broken

Hello folks,

Having finally worked out how to 'snap' the invercone into my meter, this morning I did so and popped the glass in front of the dial back into the case. Now it pressing back onto the needle which doesn't move at all! Does anyone know how to open one of these meters?

I did exactly the same thing with my Weston. Couldn't figure how to open it so used a kids toy (one of those plastic darts with a rubber sucker on the end) to grab the glass then a couple of dabs of superglue inside the case edge and pulled the glass down until the glue had set (the Weston was facing down, obviously).

Did the same with mine. Go to http://pheugo.com/camera/index.php?page=westonmtr you will find the disassembly instruction for a master II it is the same as a master III. Be careful the glass is very very brittle.

Failing that I have had excellent service from Megatron for repair and servicing my Westons.

Megatron London then choose Euro-MASTER II Exposure Meter.

In USA it is Quality Light Metric in Hollywood, CA. George repaired all my Westons.

Even added IV dials to my V so I could read the thing. It works like my IV that I stupidly threw away in 1980 because the cell died.

The invercone for earlier models 2 is different and does not require force. Cone part 26090 and multiplier 126092 for when the baffle is open for low light.
None of these requires force.

Thanks guys - it's in three pieces now, whilst I remove the the two layers of old glue!

.....and now back together, zeroed and ready for use tomorrow
