What 35mm equivalent for NEX 6?

I love the camera and most often use the Sigma 19, 30, & 60. I wish there was an affordable 35mm equivalent. Any suggestions?

If u don't mind manual focus and a bigger lens barrel, a slr lens in 24mm would probably work. There is the possibility of the Olympus pen 24 as well, it is pretty small.. But w/ all old manual focus lenses ymmv due to edge/corner issues.

Btw just about all purple fringing can be fixed w/ a free sw program called cornerfix. Hot center can be resolved sometimes w/ a center ND like the ones they used on the hasselblad xpan lenses..

If you don't mind a little bulk - the Sigma SuperWide II used to be my 35mm eq. on my APS-C cameras. You can find them for peanuts in nearly every mount (I have a Minolta MD-mount and a Sony A-mount copy) - just get a adapter and you're set. They're among the best 24mm lenses around!

I'm using the CV21mm f4 (32mm equivalent). I have no complaints and I gather its even considered ok on the a7. Slightly wider perspective but might be alright for you if you can live with that.

If you don't mind the bulk of an SLR lens, then check out the Nikons: 24mm/2.0 AI(S) for about $300 or the 24/2.8 AIS for under $200.

A very compact combo. Needs to be stopped to f8 for decent corners though. This may or may not be an issue, depending on what you shoot. I haven't noticed magenta issues.

Thanks, friends. I picked up an Olympus 24mm f/2.8 from KEH. It's a good size/weight balance on the camera (better than a Nikon 24/2.8). No edge issues, it's a stop faster than the 25mm Skopar, AND it focuses down to .25 meters.

I am using the 25/4 snapshot Skopar extensively. At first it had smudgy edges @ f/4, but that was corrected by careful adjustment of infinity focus. Now it practically lives on my nex6.

I was happy with the CV 21 but one of our sons now has it. For this focal length I am now reduced to 21 SA R which is excellent...but somewhat on the large side!

I agree, this dedicated Zeiss lens for the Sony cams is the best of the bunch to meet your criteria ... except the price. Look for a used one, and you will never look back.

Alternatively, for more use ability, a Zeiss in M mount, 21/2.8, can be had for $750 used, and you can use on the Sony with some corner softening, or with any M mount camera. I’ve owned all lenses above .... all excellent.

The Cv 21/4 also a excellent choice, but with that wide angle, you will get more corner distortion than you may want
