What a life .. what an adventure. Wish I could do the same or something similar.

What a life, eh?

No bills, no mortgage, no deadlines.

A carefree world with nothing but the wind in your hair.

(Also no security, no real future, no money, but let's not dwell on that for too long.)

Hahaha...
How true.

Oh well, the grass is always greener on the other track. But that's good, so when I woke up from my daydreaming, I could be grateful for what I do have.

What's stopping you?

Old Spanish proverb: "Take what you want, and pay for it, saieth the Lord."

Over the years, many people have told me that they envy me my life as a freelance writer and photographer -- until they realize that there's no monthly salary.

Cheers,

R.

I can't remember exactly where I read about this young man but I think it was a few years ago in Light Leaks....the article was about "The Polaroid Kid"...interesting photos you knew he was on to something......Bill

What a load of self-congratulatory bollocks, these snaps are all posed and depict nothing of the reality. Get a grip people. Sorry if I offended anyone but it needed to be said.
Impressive my arse, this is symptomatic of the "look at me, I'm an artist and I live the life" school of duping.
There really is some utter pseudo-arty bull**** masquerading as the real thang out on the net. More Emperors new clothes stuff.

Bunkum.

I'm not sure it is art, but there isn't a lot of photos from that end of the railroad business. Interesting to some, but not sure I'd pay to see it.

I think you have it wrong my friend... he is obviously a train hopper at heart, who then started to document his days as time passed. And people are interested in these photographs especially considering its now 2013 and these kids are living in the Wild West.

It really made you that angry?

I don't agree with all of that but neither the pictures nor the story enthuse me and the whole thing comes across as the far too common "let's make a new hero" syndrome that's been endemic in newspapers and magazines since the seventeenth century.

(and if you think our modern publications are cheesy, take a look at some of the tracts from the English Civil War)
