. . . for traditional, historical camera manufacturers to disapear or struggle in the name of digital era and shareholder satisfaction.

Contax is gone, Bronica also, Minolta is the latest casualty and perhaps Pentax will follow after teaming with Samsung.

Please do something to cheer me up ! ! !

I feel so sad. . .

I saved 15% on my car insurance! 😀

I have two rolls at the minilab for scanning. Should be done before I go to work, but I won't be able to post them until after. That makes me happy.

Oh yeah. And both rolls are from the Canon P, and both rolls are testing some of the Russian lenses that I've gotten. Mostly the 85 and the 50, but a couple shots with the 35 in there as well. I'm shooting with the 35 on the roll I have now.

when I put my just developed slides on the lightbox or when I look at the contact prints of my B&W I feel happy ! Tanto !

Well, Voigtlander was more than dead, and now is the true responsible of the RF renaissence we've been having in the last years !

AND it even spreads that spirit out to new brands and manufacturers, Rollei, Zeiss, which come with new and again surprising things and even in non-RF flavour.

And if everything else fails, there's still the second hand market 😉

And a gorgeous greeneyed redhead just entered the room !

...

Well you can't have everything 😉

But my M2 was shipped yesterday, wheeeeeeeeee !

Here, here. Voigtlander seems to be in this for a while, who knows. My love affair with film is now heating up with a venture into MF.

A Mother with a baby gets on a bus.

The driver stops her, horrified. "Oh Madam, that is such an ugly baby! I can't have something like that on the bus, upsetting everyone! You'll have to sit right at the back!"

Stunned into silence, she shuffles to the rear. Eventually another passenger joins her, and asks why she appears distressed. "The driver insulted me!" she exclaims. "That's terrible" her companion replies, "You go and tell him exactly what you think - and while you're doing that, I'll hold your monkey!".

Well, it always cheers me up!

I guess there is a chance that the traditional fim camera will rise again thanks to the likes of Cosina with the Bessaflex, a back to the basics manual machine. The big guns will pull out or go away but as long as there is a trickle of new film bodies being produced there will be a need for film to feed them.

Oh and it's Chinese new year on Sunday and all being well I'm on an RFF meetup in London.

I'm about to load my Leica with some nice, not so fresh but always willing Scala film.

Fresh coffee brewing in the kitchen as we speak.

Life is good to me.

How's that for a cheer-up? 🙂

SolaresLarrave, where are you getting the Scala processed? Here in the UK we were told the chemistry would run out here and that if you bought prepayed (I did) you'd have to pay again which at least gives me the choice of where to send it. I'd as good as writen this film off.

Just returned form my granddads 90 years day, been taking photos with my Minilux and just a few with the Contax G2, needed a 28mm for the sofa shots ..

And there was just one digital looney there, that makes me happy. .. 😀

My M6 just came back from Malcolm Taylor after being out of action with a shutter fault for about 4 years( house purchase, double glazing etc drained all my funds). Out and about this weekend. And whats really encouraging is reading posts from new members who have just discovered rf's and especially those who start shooting digital and progress on to film and wet darkroom work. Silver based photography may be losing the mass market battle but it will be around for a long time yet. Keep the faith!
