Contax is gone, Bronica also, Minolta is the latest casualty and perhaps Pentax will follow after teaming with Samsung.

Which film camera manufacturers also manufacture film? Kodak...Fuji... are there any more? Which one makes better cameras? Fuji?

I'd like to see Kodak sell film directly to the public with a minimum order of 10 rolls. Order online and UPS delivers your fresh film 3-5 days later. Why does Kodak still have to sell film through K Mart, Wal Mart, IGA, Safeway, Walgreens, etc?

Would you buy Nikon brand film for your Nikon or Zeiss brand film for your Contax if the film was optimized for your lenses?

Yeah, you would.

Can't help but agree somehow Frank, I got what I need as well but still hope the companies carry on. It's just a end of the different market. At the end of the day the best of the best will fail if there is no market for it. And that would be a shame. I've said it before that the important bit frames then presses the shutter (i.e. you ). An old girlfriend shot some super shots with an old Zenit E (non auto) and standard lens that would better everything I've ever and will ever shoot with better kit. Kit that is priced outside of the consumers 'acceptable' price range will go under regardless of the quality, even if the quality is significantly better.

Look on the bright side, we're here and we have devices that will capture images and the summers only just around the corner 🙂

I just loaded the Leica with 400 speed color and the QL17 with 400 B&W for the Boating and outdoor show to be held tomorrow. I am looking forward to walking, looking and shooting.

What irks me the most is not the cameras disappearing but the film. Konica, for example. I can still buy their colour film here at London Drugs and for cheap; but since this film is discontinued, I don't think it will be long now for the shelves to be bare. (Thank the mighty Ala I have a BIG fridge.) 😎
