What about Yashica Minister D? Anyone out there with an opinion. Personally I think it looks like a beautiful little piece of work. I am just about to get my hands on one as a backup for my inherited GSN. Pros and cons, anyone...?
What kind of battery? How is the 2.8 lens compared to the 1.7 GSN?

Just saw there had been no replies yet - I have no clue about the Minister-D, but I received my Minister-II today. Probably going to sell it soon enough to pay my Bessa R though, but it looks like a lovely camera. Ingenious (although perhaps not too handy) way of setting exposure by EV values (think of what the Minolta 7s does - if you've had the pleasure - but executed clumsier). Good looking, and what you often don't see on the internet pictures - I was happily surprised it's quite a bit smaller than the Electro G series (not counting the GL, GX etc)! It feels nicer in my hands.
Weird way of opening the back.. it has "Yashica" in that silly Western-font.. short focus throw, just a bit shorter than on my GS.. equally long film advance winding - what is it - 200°?.. did I mention it looks pretty cool, albeit a lot less modern than the Electro G series.. takes 46mm filters.. the shutter may be a bit (just a bit) louder than those on the later models, but the film advance is a bit more quiet (though this may of course be sample variation). The rest I still need to discover!
