"Why this display is going the other way?" a friend playing with my TLR.
"How do you focus with this?" another friend playing with my IIIf & SBOOI.
"Let me see" friend trying to see the *display on the back of Mamiya 7 which is, ah, film label holder.
"We got you this because you like photography" said my sister and mom, giving me a digital picture frame from Japan.
^^^ Well, these are cute and I don't really hate them.
On Flickr: "that's a great b/w conversion" "You should crop here" (with note to my photo)
^^^ These I hate.

When people see my Zeiss Contaflex, I've also gotten "does it shoot only in black & white?"
And one I love from the antique sellers when I'm looking at a 35mm camera "they don't make the film anymore" or "it doesn't work" (when the shutter is not cocked)
I've found it works the other way with antique sellers, too. One dealer had a Rolleicord III - very beat up - the screen was filthy - the lenses were in good shape - the camera needed a CLA badly. I asked, "how much for this camera?" - he said, "$500, those go for $1000 on *bay" -- I offered him 50 bucks and left...

PROFESSIONAL.

I don't think an image you gave away for free to some fundraiser calender or your local weekly paper really makes you a "professional"

I'm lucky the local antique sellers are usually old people that don't know ebay. On the other hand, prices are crazy on the local ebay.I've found it works the other way with antique sellers, too. "Nice, that the background is out of focus, it really helps! You did it in photoshop or...what software?"
He didn't believe it is possible in the camera.
He has a PhD in physics.

Wind blew my tripod over.
Dam I started with the fixer.
Film did not transport
Memory card failed
I forgot my camera in the resteurant.
We don`t carry those batteries any more.
You should have bought incandescent enlarging bulbs last year. Now they are illegal.
Both the hard drive and the back up failed at one time
This lens has focus shift
I thought the camera had tri x in it, but was pan f. How do I recover?
How low can I hold my 400 mm lens
Someone broke into my car and stole x.
List is endlass.

worst words I've heard ---
many years ago -- A relative got rid of all my late Uncle's "old junk cameras" after his passing, and got this new kodak.
(many leica bodies, numerous lenses, finders , filters, enlarger, etc.etc. all gone without ever asking any other family members if these "old cameras" are special or valuable...of course they all were.)
"like my new camera" -- i've come to cringe at the phrase.
