Hey folks,

I bought a Xpan with a 45mm f4 lens from eBay. I noticed there are some small white spots located inside the inner ring of the lens. Are those just some paint off or something else?

Could be a schneideritis variant known as "rokkoritis" : search the web for "Minolta M-Rokkor 28mm white spots". In this case it is not benign paint flaking-off but lens cement separation spots. A more severe problem because it is prone to evolve with more and more white spots around the periphery of the cemented unit, and which will affect image contrast.

Given the cost of those X-Pan products, I would return that thing and look for a 45mm which doesn't show this. Also, think that you will have difficulties to resell that lens if you decide to in the future eventually.
