What are you selling and why?

I want a Rollei 2.8E TLR. I cannot afford it unless I sell some items!

Well, it's not actually up for sale yet, but I am getting serious about selling
the Nikon D5100 and my 3 AF lenses to fund a Fuji XE-1 setup
(I'll keep my MF Nikkors and the X100 as well).

After we get back from August vacation, I'll make up my mind about this.

I sell stuff mainly because I don't use it. Selling one camera that you are familiar with to get another one doesn't make sense to me. Don't be a victim to marketing people who try to sell you stuff that you don't need to take good pictures.
As for the film, I see no practical (non-commercial) difference between film and anything larger than m43 sensors.

Not sure, if I remember correctly, but if so, then I've never sold camera gear. Only prints. But I think this is going to change, since I need to buy lenses and print portfolios and all money is on gallery walls (some off it sold, but money is finding my way sometime next month and I need to make purchases prior to that.

I no longer have a job and am too young to retire so yes I am selling my gear starting with Leicas since they bring in good money and then my TLR's since I ended up with quite a collection.

I'm still selling a Leica M4, an LTM 3.5 35mm Summaron, and a couple of bayonet Summarit fiters. I've had them here in the classifieds, but no luck yet.

Mailing costs sure don't help selling at the moment. I just posted my Nokton 17.5mm f0.95 off to the US and it cost $47.00 ... that was the cheapest secure method available and the next up was over $60.00 .... 😱

Yikes. Do not sell. You're not realizing what a fantastic camera you have. No other TLR offers both interchangeable lenses AND bellows. The Mamiya C series are great cameras with awesome glass!

Today I'm listing my M4-P and Voigtlander 35 2.5. I bought them a few months ago to try film again after many years of digital only. Love the hardware and the look of film, but the workflow and consistency of digital wins for me.

I'm renting a Ricoh GR this week to test and possibly add to my Nex 7 kit.

The same to send there. Canadian to US seems rather high as well. I am sure that makes for slow sales between those countries. For some reason postage between the UK and the US, doesn't seem quite as high.

Hey js, I wanted to apologize for my bad attitude and spiteful comments. I got tired of the constant party line of "oh just shoot digital" that I had seen in 2 threads concurrently from you and let it get to me.

I apologize as well. I had the same reaction to support digital, so I understand completely.

I see a lot of people who think digital is the answer - they get something or another and then their work is never the same. It ends up lacking something and self-editing more often than not takes a noticeable hit. Of course it doesn't have to happen but that side of the box does end up being opened more often than not. I think it's not a coincidence that a random sample of 20 film photographers and a random sample of 20 digital photographers results in generally more restrained editing and interesting things to look at on the film side. It's not just about the content always - process does have something to do with it. Limitations and discipline are good.

I just can't agree with this, but am fine with that. No need to argue since no one method works for everyone.

Many of us who use digital used film for many, many years. I guess my attachment is more with photos and content than process these days. I tend to find the process that works for what I want to acheive and then stick with it. However, in the 90s, I did wet print in B&W, c-prints, and cibachromes as well as Van Dyke Brown and Cyanotypes. Holgas, Pinholes, and Dianas too.

I guess we should both refrain from absolutes and remember that what works for me or you may jnot be what works for everyone else.

Nothing. I've got a good deal of film kit I could live without, but I am not convinced I want to live without it.

I'm focusing on selling photographs.

I'm selling my '34 Leica III. I just don't use it the way I had anticipated. Makes me sad because it's a nice little kit, but I have other things I could do with the money. Besides, I have plenty of other cameras to use.

I'm thinking seriously about ending my three-year experiment with micro 4/3s, selling my two OM-Ds, and getting a Canon 6D to replace my seven-year-old 5D.

I think I will keep the E-PL1 and have it converted to shoot infra-red.

Selling my wartime Leica II in the classifieds to partially cover for acquiring a Tower 45, and also a Tanar 2.0/50mm.

The Tower 45 was a cheaper alternative to getting a Leica triggerwinder (codeword SCNOO) for the Leica II. The Tanar will be a fast alternative to my modern-day sharp Heliar 2.0/50mm, used for softer portraits. Plus, it's a bleedin' nice lens that will make a killer combo with the Tower and my Nikkor 1.8/35mm.

I might be letting go of one GXR body too, to cover for it. Acquire another back-up GXR body in the future... Unless I land an extra assignment soon of course!🙄

This is the wrong thread for this reply, but I recently picked up a full spectrum E-PL1 and I highly recommend giving this a try. The 14-42mm that it came with seems like a pretty good performer so far.
