I wish I knew! All it has resulted in is large expenses on additional cameras and lenses.

Yeah, a Canuk can call another Canuk a hoser but it's really offensive if they're not. It's kind of like the N word that way. I'm surprised that it isn't automatically starred out by the RFF bad words filter.

Joe: So far so good; my main expenses have been repair and CLA of existing equipment. I thought that taking care of exisiting stuff should take the priority this summer. My stated "wish" started after I paid for the repair.

For myself, this place is a mass of information. Having bought something called a "Leica Standard", I was after more information about this thing (a habit I seem to have... acquire every possible bit of information about whatever item), I found this place.
The name came from the fact that I was proud of being a digital user. I took a turn for the worse when I saw the "Show your equipment" threads. The purchase of the darkroom equipment got me thinking "What have I done?"

Then the dali lama muttered "leicaleicaleicaleica" as he was chanting...
I then won the lottery and bought a rangefinder and then sold it and upgraded to a leica as the dali lama had told me to, thus providing a sense of inner peace and contentment...
by which I celebrated by knocking a baby seal on the head with a rock, ate the meat raw, and used his pelt to make a camera bag...

Memphis, Memphis, Memphis ...
As Bill58 can attest, languages can be tricky. In Korean, they have developed a way of saying yes when they mean no, and no when they mean yes. Causes prosecutors in sex cases no small amount of problems as you might imagine. That may explain the poor seal ...
And a little known fact is that in Tibetan, ST901 is actually pronounced Leica. So yes, you stepped in dog doo doo for sure. No wonder the Dali Lama told me he was doing penance for the next 20 years ...
Memphis, only you can save him.

Hey, this Olympus OM SLRs are cool, I wonder if they used to make other types of camera... hmm, where's that bookmark to that weirdly-named forum... rangefinding-something...

A combination of things brought me here. A number of years ago, having only used an SLR (my grandfather's Konica Autoreflex T2), I found a neat-looking camera at a church fair. Brought it home, learned about it (a Retina IIC), got Ed Romney's book, and fixed it up. Also got into Konica Auto S2s and fixed a couple of those up. Then things went dormant for a while.
Fast forward a few years. Needed info about building a bamboo fly rod from a blank I had, and ended up on the Classic Fly Rod Forum. A discussion there led me to the Fountain Pen Network. A mention there of wetshaving, combined with being tired of cold canned goo, sent me to Badger & Blade. A couple of guys there mentioned RFF. That, and the fact that I feel like I miss something almost alchemical with digital sent me here. Here I am, feeling somewhat out of my league.

like many others, company that dont want to be evil brought me here.
ever since I found this forum, I've been constantly wondering about so much activity here.
I do seem to be always late when new threads open. and I think I follow RFF more than any other forums currently.

Google led me here, looking for info on a longer lens for my M7. I visited a few times and gleaned some useful info. But once I discovered that you can have black text on white instead of white text on black I signed up.

Besides learning more from you about rangefinders than I could have ever on my own, this is also one of the most fun forums I've ever come across- and to top it off all the dealings I've had buying and selling have put me in contact with really fine folks.
Thanks.
What the hell happened to my Llama?

Paul was a diversion. The real threat is Shatner! He's recruited himself quite the following and you guys didn't even see it happening! Bwahaha!
