What camera do you think has the sweetest shutter sound

The slow shutter speeds on a Contax II/III (or Kiev) rangefinder -- more of a 'zzzzt,' as opposed to a click.

The Leicaflex SL -- more of a low pitched "'crunch' as opposed to a click.

My girlfriend's Pentax 67 -- a gunshot.

The "sherflunk" of a Hasselblad is hard to beat, even though it is far from quiet.

That does sort of characterize the 500C/M, doesn't it? Although one of mine is a bit more like, "shaklump!"

My Leica M2 at 1/15 goes, "tock--tock-tic-tic." At around 1/60, it goes, "shalick." At higher speeds, it goes, "schick."

Best I can do.

Mamiya 6, Rolleiflex, Kodak Retina II, Leica M2, Olympus OM-D EM5, Nikon F5

The ugliest shutter sound (more due to film transport than shutter):
Leica Minilux and Olympus AF-1 Twin

Among my cameras, I like the sound of the shutter made by the Standard Leica. It is super smooth. Considering the age of the camera, I find this amazing.

Hard choosing between my Canon P or Mamiya 6, always depends on which one being used. The world is full of sounds, some obnoxious others wonderful, with many opinions. In my racing days to hear my small block Ford idle was music. Then full throttle---- well you just had to be there.
