Found it at a yard sales a couple of weeks back, anyone know what it is? Format is a little odd, about 15.5 x 12 cm.

Funny, I was just looking at these today on the big auction site. I believe this is a Brand Press View Camera. They were made in Los Angeles and could be fitted with a Kalart RF. Think of it as a hand-holdable view camera, mixed with a stripped down Graphic. There were a few Brand Press models, and this one does look a bit cobbled together.
 
155mm x 120mm is nearly 120.65mm (4.75 inches) x 165.1mm (6.5 inches) which is half-plate size or perhaps double-quarter plate (I've seen half plate cited as being 4.25" x 6.5"). Half-plate sheet film is I think still available to special order although you would have to make up a spacer to use sheet film on a plate glass holder I think. You could probably adapt the camera back somehow to the more common 4" x 5" sheet film holder. The metalwork appears to be made of an aluminium alloy which should polish up with something like 'Autosol' metal polish.

Ps. Yes, I put it on a Linhof tripod :) It was the only one I had that had the larger tripod screw
 
Certainly not a Linhof! I would have to agree, it's a lower end LF camera to be sure. Not sure I've ever seen that type of lens board, but then I haven't shot LF for 10 years, so it's not my specialty.

Like was mentioned earlier, it is either a Brand or New-Vue large format camera. Indestructible but a bit heavy. I almost bought one of these instead of a very light Nagaoka Seisakusho but the lensboards are almost impossible to find for the Brand and I wanted something backpack-able.

I bought one of these (similar) with a bunch of camera equipment. What I got was a New Vue. Clearly marked on the cross bar on the front plane between the two rails. I believe the casting indicated made in Chicago but I distinctly remember New Vue. No wood on it however, back was a very ugly revolving rear screen ground glass view.

This is the camera I had, and yes it was a New Vue... not the camera posted here:

Not this camera, but distinctly similar on the dual rail slide system. Very heavy due to the all metal construction. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Couldn't afford a pack mule!!!
