My first guess was FED too, but then this wouldn't be a surprise, Cosina is too new in the market, Contax didn't stay long enough and was too expensive even compared to Leica in its days.

Steven, I don't think is asking...How many lenses, but how many rf cameras period. Which company made the most camera rf bodies? (not models)

A quick glance in Princelle suggests that FED would be at least around the 3,000,000 mark and the Zorki 4 alone reached 1,715,677 (which is why we've all got 8 I suppose...)

Without doing any research, I'm going with Argus since everytime I walk into a junk shop, there's at least 6 Argi 😉 looking at me.
Yeah, this has to be one of the FSU manufacturers. Most models, Canon has made a ton, but most # of units, Fed, Zorki, Kiev, one of those.

Hmm. Who are you going to believe? But either answer is surprising to me.
I wasn't there counting cameras, so I don't really know.
Yet I personally don't find the FSU camera production figures during the cold war credible for two reasons:
1) just about every claim imaginable was inflated as the Ruskies claimed as a matter of state policy that everything USSR was better than USA.
2) the FSU Leica replica conversion industry is already running short on the best "Leica Copies," resorting to producing their masterpieces from not quite so great copies.
On the other side of the dektol, I do believe Argus USA's figures that over 3,000,000 C3's were were produced can be believed.
So, there is no doubt unheralded Argus produced the most interchangeable lens rangefinders outside of the FSU. Whether you choose to believe the FSU production figures may depend upon your Vodka ration that day.
Whatever the answer, it still surprises me. Argus? FSU ?
