I came across a photograph from one of my friend's friend Facebook albums but I don't know what camera she uses, I actually thought it was a Lomography Panaromic camera but I checked it and with that one, it has some sort of a fish-eye effect, whereas this image doesn't.

Does anyone know?

Oh wow! Yeah I've seen APS films but never considered it.
Definitely looking forward to trying it out, although it doesn't seem like the most convenient thing at the moment!

A number of 35mm cameras also have this panaramic feature. It is a Mask that flips down over the film gate. The Nikon Lite-Touch has it, goes with the 28mm F3.5 lens. Some SLR's also have it.

This essentially is an in-camera crop, only a portion of the negative is used. You could get the same effect by putting an "E-Screen" in a Nikon SLR and use the center third of the image to compose.

Ahh okay I was asking because the lens used is perfect, I mean it's what I wanted, because I've seen other panoramic cameras but they had such a wide-angle lens, but this one's up close and pretty sexy I guess haha!

My Nikon N70QD (Quartz Date) has the Panorama feature in it. Works with any lens attached. They are "dirt-Cheap" these days, $25 will pick one up.

Hi Brian thanks. I actually did a little comparing between the photos on Flickr and I concluded that the camera used was called a "Halina Panaroma" camera...now searching for one and there is NONE around! *goes mental*

haha!

I think ive got an old "Panorama Wide Pic" focus free/pano/fixed shutter speed cheap p&s which produces similar style shots hanging around somewhere, ill have to check, but your more than welcome to it if i can find it as ive never used the thing.

Ahh! Thank you so much nimcod!

Stewart, well I don't actually know that person...it's one of those things where it's a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend...and so on!

Maybe it's just a digital crop, like this one I did

This sort of masked panorama was pretty common on P&S cameras for a while. I know there were several Olympus Stylus cameras with it and my Pentax UC-1(Espio Mini) has it.
You can get the same effect pretty easily from any camera/lens in post processing; just fill the top and bottom third of your frame with black. Or as Greyelm says, just crop.

Sara - I recommend not getting one of those cheapie panoramas. I've got a few and unless you're shooting in bright sunlight they are terrible. HOWEVER, if you really want one of those faux panoramic cameras I recommend the Olympus Stylus DLX. They're dirt cheap and the lens is amazing. haha You can easily find them on ebay for under $20 USD. OR if you want something fancier get the Stylus EPIC DLX
