What car do you drive your camera around in and is it a he or a she and what do you call him/her? And how does it contribute to your photography?

Tank? No, a dainty little lady of 37 years young. A Land Rover 109. Best there is. I've used her as a mounting platform for my tripod on many occasions, and she goes places where other cars fear to tread.

... nothing can truly match the true go-anywhere capability of a small European hire-car

my bride and i share a scion xb. can't say it contributes to my photography except for getting me there. i also ride a kymco people s 250 scooter. it, too, gets my camera and me where we need to be. i really should genderize and name my scoot ...

Hahaha. I once rented a Corolla in Namibia. Everyone drove Bakkies (pick-up trucks). But it got us wherever we wanted to go, even out to Soussus-Vlei. The underside was polished clean, but I never heard from the hire-car company.

Currently no car for the next 15 months or so. But my dear 97 Jeep Wrangler is waiting for me at a friend's house ;)

2001 Accura 1.7 EL with five-speed manual transmission.
And like my photographic gear, it has neither a name nor a gender.

Mine has a 'zooooom!'

Zoom-zoom. You drive a Mazda then, Keith.

I'm one of those leftist pinko-commie, Birkenstock-wearing, Subaru driving, tree-huggers.

(also sick and home from work today)

A harsh choice, 88" and 109". Mine's a 1972 Station Wagon 88, sometimes referred to as 'The Old Girl'. Yes, with a shooting platform on top. And bridging ladders on the roof-rack.

Cheers,

R.

This is oddly similar to the camera hoarder thread for me... I am not a "hoarder" or "collector," as I use all my vehicles, and they all have their specific purpose...
Acura CL
Datsun 280ZX
old school Monte SS w/ '74 Z28 LT-1
Chevy K10 4x4 Short box w/ suspension lift on 33's

The cameras are alot easier to hide around the house too..
My wife and I are expecting our second and she has decided that I should wait to get a motorcycle again, but I found a nice deal on a Vmax... not sure where I could "store" it until I could convince her that I need one.. hmm.

07 Suzuki Jimny. It's quirky and tiny and almost as uncivilized on-road as it is capable off-road, and I love it. Everything feels like an adventure in it!

No name or gender though - it is what it is...
