What Case Are You Using with R-D1

Thanks to Sychan's research, I now know what the Epson case for the R-D1S sells for.

Therefore, if you would like to purchase mine, please email me and we can work out the particulars. I will sell it for $150USD plus shipping.

Thanks again, Sychan.

P.S. I think Luigi is correct, by the way, that the stitching of the Epson case, while very well done, does not appear to be by hand. The flap for the SD card removal, however, is handy. That said, I tend to change batteries more often than cards and it appears that all of the eveready cases require that the camera come out to change the battery.

I beg your pardon, but I MUST add that...

1. It is almost totally copied from a my former case (September 2005), as from
enclosed pictures

2. The lateral slot/opening for the SD card removal is totally not necessary, with the lowered cost of the 1DB cards (MANY pictures), and the easy, 5 seconds
removal of the R-D1 camera from my cases.

3. The Epson case is NOT, I repeat, NOT hand stitched, what makes a case costly

I hope to don't seem a "spamming seller", but I thought it necessary to explain...

Luigi - I hope that you don't think I am somehow equating your case with the Epson one. Its clear that your cases come in a wide variety of custom colors, are handmade and (from the looks of it) made from finer leather. The Epson cases are a lower priced choice, not a replacement for your cases.

Looking at the pictures of Epson's case and judging using the bottom half only (which is IMHO the only practical use for it) I can't see how it can provide close to the protection that the Luigi case can provide. But I'm biased, because I love my Luigi case. Thanks again, Luigi.

PS> And how spoiled must we be when it wasn't too long ago that any of us using half cases had to take them off to change film after 36 exposures? :D

These Luigi cases only get nicer and nicer.
I have a half case for my Digilux 2 and it's not only comfortable
but also looks stunning.
The Digilux 2 will be sold soon, since I have an RD-1 on the way
and for this cam I will definitly order a Luigi half case again.

Hi,
I have just received my R-D1 from Robert White and my half case from Luigi. The case is worth every penny not only does it protect the camera it also provides a steady and sure grip and fits like a glove. With time it will wear in rather than wear out .Highly recommended if you like cases for your cameras.
Steve.

Dale,

Tomorrow I will place an order for a Luigi's brown half-case for my R-D1... I think they are far beautiful than the Epson case, they add an special character to the camera.

Removing the case to take off the card is part of the process, is just like we do with our film cameras, but instead of removing the case every 36 shots here you do it every 300, so I guess is not that bad. The price; well, perfection comes with a cost but don't you think your camera deserves the best? :)

Cheers my friend!

Just this morning I received a Luigi's brown case with a removable patch for my RD-1.
I can only say it is very beautiful, the craftmanship is superb in every respect and I recommend Luigi's products without hesitation.

Pricey or not it depends on the eye of the beholder; for me it worths every euro and it will be a beautiful companion for my Epson for the years to come. Thank you Luigi!!!!!
