Actually I know, my lens was fogged but I would have gone shooting all night like that if I had not chimped my display. That was a sure a surprise after coming from SLR and DSLR shooting as my rangefinder window was perfectly clear. Is this common? How do you film shooters prevent it???

Had you just moved from an air-conditioned interior to a warm and humid outdoors ?! Any lump of cold glass will end up with condensation on it with a big temperature and humidity change, and there is a lot less glass to warm up on the outer surfaces of the viewfinder - probably that is why it was clear more quickly than the lens.

Maybe you can call it 'artistic' ?
