I love the lens on the X100 series. Leave that as-is, maybe add some WR touches and the sensor from the 2.

You forgot to add the X100F (fifth), X100S (sixth), X100S (seventh)... Confusing? :bang:
Personally, I hope Fuji relaunch it properly with many changes, including:
1. 23mm/1.7 or 1.8 lens, with better close-up quality than the current lens, and more micro-contrast.
2. The sensor from the X-Pro2, including the processor and all the image processing.
3. Weather sealing.
4. A new, bigger, better battery.
That's it!

Maybe it will be a 28mm f2 actual (42mm equiv).
Not a big shift in FL but, it would add a new twist to the product offering.
I would take a fixed 35mm f2 for a 50mm equiv in a heartbeat.

i'd consider jumping back in if they made that shutter release smoother. that last half press is not smooth and i tried numerous options thumb grips, shutter release but those didn't really help. the threaded release although looks cool and retro not really sure it is helping.

Well . . . . there is not 'much' difference from the X100S to the X100T. Facial recognition is new on the X100T, and placement of the MACRO mode is now in the menu, as the camera focuses rather closely anyhow. And there are other, what I consider at most, very minor updates.
If you desire an X100(x) I would go with the X100T for its very fantastic facial recognition feature. I have found it quite invaluable.
Being the X100T is such a fine and well thought-out camera, I would be shocked if Fuji could actually make any 'significant' improvements or changes to this particular line.

Jonas: like yourself, the x100 pulled me into digital and love the mojo it has from the sensor with all its quirks. I have the TCL for I am a strictly 35/50 frame of reference. though once the funds are there I will consider an upgrade to a X100T or a second digital xpro2…. BTW like others have mentioned, I enjoy your eye and cinematic view….

After a while in hiatus, the X100 is back in regular rotation and I'm enjoying it all over again. My desire for upgrades would essentially be the innards of the X-Pro2/X-T2 in the body of the X100T, and with a redesigned lens that is sharp wide open. This would be a significant upgrade in stills and video quality. In the meantime, I'm happy shooting my classic X100.

Both these posts pretty much nail it for me. I've been using the x100 series since it was first released in 2011 and the x100t is my go-to camera. Nearly perfect at every situation I throw at it. Based on the last few releases, I'd expect an announcement of a new camera this fall.
-The new sensor/processor from the XP2/XT2 just makes sense as does the joystick. Each will be well received.
-I would like the lens to be redesigned so it's either sharper wide open or allows an extra stop of light in.
-Weather sealing has been on my wish list since rumors of an x100s and while I've never run into problems with my x100's dying when I'm in the rain or near water, it would be nice for the peace of mind.
-ISO control dial like the XP2 I wouldn't mind at all.
-The focus on the Leica Q is fantastic if Fuji would be able to replicate that functionality.
Using the same battery as the rest of the X-series would be nice just so I'd only have to worry about one type of battery/charger while traveling. Seeing as the XE1/2 is nearly the same size as the X100, using the larger battery should be possible.
Oh, and Fuji, please keep the shape and don't add a grip like the XP2 or XE2

Weather sealing;
A "snap" mode, similar to the GR's; or the ability to memorize MF mode's previous distance setting after switching back from AF; or a distance scale on lens (with a hard infinity stop, although unlikely). In short: a shortcut to focus the lens to a specific distance. I'm sure it's doable with just a firmware update...which is yet to come.

Yes, these would be great. I would also like faster AF.
I wouldn't want any other changes (e.g. faster lens) that come at the expense of a bigger camera.

What I really think would be interesting is a portrait orientation and a 56/1.2 type lens version of the x100. X100P for portrait. That I think would be pretty niche, but pretty sweet. A small camera specifically for shooting people. We are at a pretty good place for iso and other sensor performance, and portraits aren't as MP intensive as lanscape or to me, wider angle photography.
