Good lord - so many Mac users!

My rev a G5 is scanning right now, so I'm on a small VAIO with Win2000.

I started a local Mac Users Group here in my city though, so you can't kill me ;-)

Win 98SE here...yes, I know..but it runs smoothly for the needs I have and does not freeze the dinosaurs I use (PII 333).

At least the screen on the desktop (in storage at the moment) is a 19" Dell-branded Sony Trinitron that I got for CHF10 (USD8-ish) at a Thrift Army .😀 .

The next computer will probably be a Mac, combined with a storage solution running Linux (no clue on the distro, yet - will think about that at a future time)

erhm, perhaps OpenBSD?

Or, er, one of the even better *BSDs? (Sorry, I've had more than one run-in with Mr. de Raadt & his ego... :bang: :bang: :bang: I'd rather deal with Mr. Gates. )

Too bad I can't check more than one.

Mac OS X on the laptop that I carry with me, GNU/Linux on the Laptop I don't (the one in the bedroom for late night reading), Slackware distro. Mac OS X on a couple other systems at home (the picture processing machine is a Dual G5 with Mac OS X, Aperture, and far more importantly, World of Warcraft on it)

At work, I'm a Unix admin, so "whatcha got?" is what I do. I'm also the OS/2 support guy (and yes, we still have some running, but only a few boxes...)

I like computer operating systems. I like pie.

My VT220 is hooked up to a PDP 11/70 running DEC VMS.

Wow, I used to play with VMS back in the early 90s. Don't recall much of it though... wasn't it something like SET DEF [-] to step up a directory level or something?

XP here, I think it's the best OS Microsoft has cranked out.

VMS doesn't run on a PDP....

VMS doesn't run on a PDP....

"$ Set def [-]" will indeed move you "up" one level of directory structure.

However, you would need to be running on a VAX, an Alpha or an IA64 to be running VMS.

ChrisPlatt was certainly pulling some legs, as there no VMS on an 11/70 (PDP), and a VT220 would not be able to navigate this forum, even under VMS.

Well that's the plan

Yeah I used to think that, but OS X is pretty slick too.. with a few exceptions that makes you wanna say: "What the hell were they thinking?" :bang:

OS X here now.

Windoze unfortunately when I'm at work. I purposely avoided this poll when I saw this at work yesterday because my personal preference is for OS X.
