What did you think of Canon's concept camera?

The target audience is "Bored, nothing to buy" 🤣
Yes it looks like a toy.

The biggest tell is the optical path - the sensor is positioned above the ground glass, so you would be taking a picture of the screen, or swinging the mirror to focus using the screen in the WLF. This seems like an irrational choice - compared the sensible SLR mirror positioned below the ground glass, and the sensor behind it, but obviously this was done to allow the use of a tiny low cost sensor rather than a full frame sensor behind the first mirror.

With the same outward boxy form factor, a m43 sensor camera with a LCD in the WLF position would have been cute and superior.

I think this is Canon's response to Fujifilm's X-Half: Kind of a toy, in the sense that it's main purpose is to entertain and to serve the market for film-like cameras without the bother of actual film.

Really interesting. I would be great to hold and hold steady for night photography. Wonderful if it could be medium format too. Not sure I'd buy one though.

I get it, a quality camera in that form factor would be really cool, but it will most likely come with a tiny sensor, I think someone said type 1 (1") earlier in the thread.
I want a digital or even a film remake of the Olympus XA series. AND, keeping as simple. No fancy schmancy, just ISO focus, aperture choice, and a little basic exposure compensation. Maybe a B/W dedicated one too. Dream, dream, dream.

OK, here is a YT vid on the camera. Call it what you like, I do not care. What gets me are the dreamy images caught through the use of two, yes two, mirrors. I like it.
